Monthly Newsletter

It has been a busy month in the College Counseling Office.  We were visited by Education USA, a branch of the United States Embassy, who gave students in grades 9 – 12 an outstanding presentation on how to begin the college search process and what assistance was available from Education USA.  We were also visited by WCC Aeronautical and Technological College and Enderun College in Manila who have both requested to give presentations to our students. Additionally, we have been in direct contact with more than 550 universities in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia requesting information regarding admission requirements, scholarships, and financial assistance.  We have already ready received volumes of material that is available for students and parents to read.  The Early Application/Early Decision season is upon us.  We are proud to announce that we have students who have already applies to universities such as Georgetown, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame.  Individual interviews with juniors and seniors has already begun.  Student portfolios are also being constructed at this time.  Please encourage your child to give us copies of past accomplishments in academics, sports, the arts, community service or in anything else they have excelled.  Once again please use the following WEB sites to help you and your child explore the college selection process:  https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/get-started and https://educationusa.state.gov/ and https://www.overgrad.com/ are great tools that you and your child can explore together to make informed choices about college.  Please stop by the office and ask questions.
