NIS Scholarship Information 2015-2016

NIS is now open for application/selective admission. We have many ways to assist bright, talented young people financially. We are offering 68 different scholarships for next year and a variety of other incentives for new and returning students. 

(Applications due on April 1, 2015)

These are:

Chairman Scholarship (8 Available)

Open only to incoming 7th and 8th grade students for Academic Year 2015-2016.

The Chairman Scholars attend NIS under a 100% scholarship including room and board in the NIS dorm. Applicants will be interviewed by the Headmaster and representatives of the NIS admissions committee. They will be asked to sit for assessments in English, Mathematics, and Science for appropriate academic scheduling. This scholarship can be renewed yearly through the senior year provided all terms of the scholarship are met. Chairman Scholarship is the highest honor that can be awarded to a student.

Requirements for applicants must:

• have a 90% grade average or the equivalent.
• be entering either the 7th or 8th grade in the 2015-2016 school year
• hold a Filipino birth certificate, Filipino passport or the other equivalent proof of Filipino birth.
• demonstrate English proficiency as determined by the faculty of the English Academy.

Headmaster Scholarship 20 Available

Open to students in the 3rd to 10th grade for the Academic Year 2015-2016.

Headmaster Scholars attend NIS under a 50% tuition scholarship*. Applicants will be interviewed by the Headmaster and representatives of the NIS admissions committee. They will be asked to sit for assessments in English, Mathematics, and Science for appropriate academic scheduling. These scholarships are renewable yearly provided all terms of the scholarship are met. The admissions committee will meet to make a recommendation to the Headmaster as to the allocation of these scholarships. Headmaster’s decision is final.

Requirements for applicants must:

• be eligible to enter 3rd – 10th grades.
• hold a birth certificate, passport or the other equivalent proof of birth.
• have a B grade average or the equivalent.

Phoenix Scholarship 25 Available

For students who demonstrate unusual ability as a musician, artist, actor, dancer, or athlete.

The Phoenix Scholarship is up to 50% tuition scholarship*. Applicants will be interviewed by the Headmaster and representatives of the NIS admissions committee and demonstrate their talent(s) to the Arts faculty or to the appropriate coaches. Auditions for students not currently residing in the Philippines, may be submitted through email. Interviews may be done via SKYPE. Following those auditions and interviews the committee will meet to make a recommendation to the Headmaster. Students will be asked to sit for assessments in English, Mathematics, and Science for appropriate academic scheduling. Headmaster’s decision is final.

Requirements for applicants must:

• be eligible to enter 3rd – 10th grades.
• hold a birth certificate, passport or the other equivalent proof of birth.
• must have a C grade average or the equivalent.
• must earn a B average at the end of the first year at NIS.

Go Getter Scholarship 15 Available

For the incoming 3rd grader who shows Academic achievement potential.

The Go Getter Scholarship is a 30% tuition scholarship*. Applicants will be interviewed by the Headmaster and representatives of the NIS admissions committee. They will be asked to sit for assessments in English, Mathematics, and Science for appropriate academic scheduling.

Requirements for applicants must:

• be eligible to enter grade 3.
• hold a birth certificate, passport or the other equivalent proof of birth.
• have a B grade average or the equivalent.

Additional Enrollment Incentives

Early Years School and NIS K2 Students going to 1st Grade.

A 30% discount on tuition for next year will be granted if these criteria are met:

1. Submit your intent to return form by April 1, 2015.
2. Submit you initial application ( if a new enrollee) by May 1, 2015
3. Paid next year’s tuition on or before May 30th of this year.

 

Current Filipino Students entering 2nd – 12th Grades.

1. A 50% financial award is available to all Filipinos with a 90% average or the equivalent.
2. All Filipino students who are interested in living on NIS campus will receive a 30% discount on room and board when a room is shared.
3. One month of free lunch is provided if you apply by April 1, 2015 register by May 1, 2015 and pay 10% of the tuition fee by May, 30, 2015
